Dear friends in the Search for
Bianca,
For
a number of reasons, it has been difficult to send a newsletter over
the
past six weeks. I have been involved in a number of computer
restoration projects at home and I'm intending to sell
several of them for much needed income. There were household
maintenance concerns that had to be addressed before another
New England winter sets in. And, thanks to a small fire at a facility
in
Arizona earlier this month, I lost the ability to FTP all of my web
sites for more than a week. Yet, despite all the busy work and
distraction, a few very critical discoveries have emerged in this
effort whose implications are the most important of the past nine
months. In fact, with information that has recently come to light, it
appears increasingly that the past nine months were nothing more
than an illusion... as shocking as that sounds.
This new conclusion has arrived in four stages. The first
came on October 24th when a private investigator and
friend offered his assistance regarding the Portuguese email
message I had received in late August that allegedly came from Claudia.
"You deserve to know the truth," he told me. I had taken Claudia's
message at face value when she claimed she most certainly is not
Bianca. Although the physical evidence certainly didn't synchronize
with her claim, I at least thought her message was genuine. It was
consistent with what she told an escort customer back in June when he
made her aware of this site. When I shared her message with a few
friends,
however, their reactions were quite different. A friend of mine with
technical
expertise told me that the message itself was a fraud and the person
who wrote it is lying. He cited everything from language patterns to
the
time stamp and routing of the message. It had arrived in my Inbox via
California and he didn't notice any Brazilian trace. He felt that
someone with
ties to the SoCal porn industry had branded me a stalker and was
attempting to
railroad me.
The private investigator's study, however, revealed something quite
different. He confirmed the California time stamp. But it spite of
that, the ultimate origin of the message was unmistakable. It was,
indeed, from Rio de Janeiro.
Now, is this discovery enough to prove that the email account is
truly Claudia's? No, but it greatly increases the probability that it
is and that the message I received in August was genuine.
Then, on October 26th, I received an email from my most reliable
contact in Rio. A few days earlier he had discovered a movie on one of
the local porn channels that featured Claudia. To him it appeared to be
one of her more recent productions because she didn't look as young as
in
some others he had seen. She appears with a couple of American men,
and because they speak English, she tried to respond in English. But,
my contact says, her English was awful. He said he thought it was
impossible
for someone who had lived and worked in the United States for as many
years
as Bianca to speak English that way. Her accent and grammar were really
bad.
As I have mentioned elsewhere on this site, Bianca's spoken English was
excellent and her accent was subtle, even although it was certainly her
second language.
Naturally, such observations inspired more investigation. In recent
months I have been in contact with an escort customer of Claudia's who
had discovered this web site. I sent him a message asking
him about the level of his ability to speak Portuguese and what
language he used to communicate with Claudia. Finally on November 7th,
I coaxed a reply from him. He said that during his meetings with
Claudia, they communicated with "a bad mix of English and Portuguese."
She spoke limited English and he speaks only a little Portuguese.
Somehow, this important fact had evaded my previous correspondence with
him.
Finally, the fourth stage occurred on Sunday while I was in the
process of writing this newsletter. After the reply from Claudia's
former
customer, I did some thinking. Someone's language ability is usually
pretty defining, but such ability is subject to change. People can get
more proficient or less proficient in a language over time, and
someone's ability in a language is subject to the interpretation of
the observer. I began to think about an ultimate litmus test to
determine,
beyond any doubt, whether Claudia is or is not Bianca. It didn't take
too
long to determine what that test would be.
During the weeks I knew Bianca, the undeniable number one problem in
her life was her expired US visa. It was more than obvious. If she went
home to visit the family she loved, she could never come back,
at least for another ten years.
Bianca's tenure at the club was November 2003 to July 2004. During that
time frame, Claudia was involved in three or four productions, all
occurring in either January or April of 2004. I didn't meet Bianca at
the club until May of 2004. If any of Claudia's movies produced during
that time were shot in any place that required an American resident to
produce a valid visa to gain re-entry into the United States, Claudia
cannot possibly be Bianca, no matter how much they look, dress, and
behave alike.
With that dictum in the back of my mind for almost two weeks, I opened
a drawer and pulled out my copy of "South American Pie 2." I read
credit
information I had read before. The video was produced from 4/1/04 to
4/12/04
and was released on 9/15/04. But on the front cover was some
information I
had previously dismissed as a lie. It said "Shot in South America."
Previously, I had given that line as much credibility as a porn movie
that
taunts the phrase "all amateur action." (No, they are not "amateurs!"
They are
pros who have the right bodies. They are very good at what they do, and
are paid accordingly. It is simply an appeal to a lucrative niche
market.)
But in light of what has been revealed over the past month, what
motivation
would a company like Zero Tolerance have to lie about a very general
description of the shoot locations? Outside of perhaps some obscure US
military base that I have never heard of, I can't think of anywhere on
the
South American continent a US resident can travel where documentation
is not
required to re-enter the US.
On my tiny, home-brewed radio station, I carry a program by Jim Fetzer,
a Wisconsin based professor whose specialty is critical thinking and
the
philosophy of science. For many years, he has been a researcher of high
profile historic events such as 9/11 and the Kennedy assassination. One
morning,
he was talking about forming a hypothesis and putting it to the test.
He
said that each new piece of evidence that supports your hypothesis
doesn't prove it. But, he added, all it takes is one piece of
evidence that doesn't fit and the entire hypothesis has to be thrown
out. He also remarked that the simplest explanation for something
usually turns out to be the most correct. I am an American. Why did
Claudia write to me in Portuguese? The simplest explanation is that
she didn't know enough English to comfortably write to me in English,
and she didn't have the time or knowledge to obtain a good English
translation over the Internet. Furthermore, I went out of my way to
make
the web site Portuguese friendly, and she probably assumed my ability
to understand Portuguese is better than it actually is.
So, it comes as a shock. But for nine months, it looks like I've been
barking up the wrong tree. It is absolutely astonishing, because
Claudia looks like and behaves like Bianca in every conceivable way.
They were even both drawn to adult entertainment work. As for the
tattoos, I don't know how to explain them. Perhaps my memory of the
tattoo is not as precise as I assumed it was, especially with the
lighting in that club. Perhaps a tattoo artist in Massachusetts and
another in Rio obtained the same pattern. With both women so
genetically similar and with obviously similar tastes, they
both chose this pattern. Perhaps if you put both of them side by side
in a police line up, you would see differences in the tattoos, but not
enough for my memory to notice.
In the coming days, I plan to communicate this new understanding to
Claudia. We also have a problem that I would like to work with her to
solve. Back in August, I spent close to $1,050 US in money I really
could not afford to spend. It was required to purchase the
claudiabella.com Internet domain from a European domain name parking
service. At the time, I was still convinced that Claudia was Bianca. I
wanted to obtain the domain and present it to her as an expression of
love and the desire to restore our friendship. Even if
she has retired in recent months, Claudia deserves a web site that
glorifies her beauty and her porn career. Many retired American porn
actresses maintain web sites. She should have one, too. Through a web
site, I can offer Claudia something that makes up for the embarrassment
and disruption I caused to her life in recent months. Also, my hope is
that over time, such a web site can generate enough money to make up
for
my financial loss. Becoming Claudia's webmaster would be a good thing.
It will also motivate me to learn more Portuguese.
As for continuing the search for Bianca, I plan to purchase small,
inexpensive classifieds in print and on line publications that reach a
general audience in the Rio metro. One on line classified site (which I
refer to as "the Craig's List of Brazil") charges only $4 US per month
for an ad that can include a picture and all the text you need. I would
keep these affordable ads running on a regular schedule that lasts at
least six months to a year. Basically, I'm going to "set it and forget
it"
and go on with my life. But you can never underestimate the impact of
tiny
classifieds run repeatedly over long periods of time. And unlike most
American
cities, I'm told that people in Rio know each other.
As always, thanks to all of you for your interest and support.
Jeff
